About:Ā Rusekabuye means āman who hits stone with head and breaks it into one thousand piecesā. It is the youngest of the washing stations in the Akawa project and perhaps the most picturesque. Hilare, one of the owners of Rusekabuye, was lobbied by producers in the region to build it as he has a great reputation for being fair. At the time, there was only one other station in operation and it wasnāt treating the producers well. Although Hilare was threatened by the other station owner, the farming community wouldnāt let him back down. In 2017 Rusekabuye was finished and since then it has processed two harvests. We look forward to supporting it through many more.
